Vacationing With the Enemy

SYNOPSIS: Krugman's vacation was not a bike trip but a walking one

I hear there's a rumor that I went on a bicycle trip in France. It's not true: my wife and I went on a walking tour in France. (We did a bike trip last year.)

Why France? Robin and I were already in London, working. (The Eurostar to Paris takes about the same time, and costs about the same amount, as Amtrak from Trenton to DC.)  And France has two great advantages over New Jersey:

1. You can cycle or walk from village to village:
